Route details

  • Profile: Rolling forest roads with two longer pulls and runnable flats between beer stops.
  • Surface: Packed gravel, short paved connectors, and smooth singletrack linking the checkpoints.
  • Checkpoints: Five staffed beer stops on course, roughly evenly spaced, plus water and a light snack at each.
  • Finish: Cross the line, collect your sixth beer, and step into the gathering area when you’re ready.
  • Markings: Bright ribbons, reflective arrows at turns, and chalk at ambiguous junctions.

Why we run

About the event

The 5+1 Race is a small, locally organized beer checkpoint run: five beers spaced along the course and a sixth at the finish. We keep entries to forty runners so checkpoints never feel rushed, crews can pour safely, and the day keeps an easy, community rhythm from check-in through the post-race hangout.

History

Placeholder copy: the race began as an informal trail weekend among friends, grew through word of mouth in local running circles, and kept the same small-field format once more people wanted in. Replace this with real dates, founders, and milestones when you are ready.
